Nathans Pre Pre-trip fiasco

Hello to everybody out there in cyberspace land, am getting around to doing my second post.

So todays story is about my youngest Nathan. We have just come out of our Easter long w/end and everybody's back at work, the kids are on school holidays ( gee i wish i was at school again ) it doesn't seem that long ago when they were on holidays. Any how a parents worse nightmare sort of happened, Fiona got a call from Nathan around lunchtime that he had fallen off his bike, and nathan didnt make a big deal out of it, but went on to say that he had a cut near his eye that had been bleeding, and hurt his leg, Suffice to say Fiona asked him did he want her to come home and he replied "no i'm at my friends next door neighbors and she is a nurse so she's fixing it up for me".
Well the next door neighbor told nathan to put his phone on loudspeaker so she could talk to Fiona, and she said that she had cleaned it and she would put a dressing on it, "but it may need a couple of stitches", but should be alright if he doesn't ride his bike or get it wet for about 5 days.

Well fiona sent me a text at work telling me what had happened and that he was ok, which was all good.
When i got home from work i saw the area near his eye were he had cut it open, andasked him how it had happened, " well i was ridin me bike and me phone rang so i went to get it out of me pocket and nearly dropped it, but i caught it and when i looked up there was a parked car there and i ran into the back of the car" all with a smile on his face.
Well, when i heard that i thought it was quite funny and shook my head at him and asked him was he wearing his helmet, he said that he was and that it didnt really do anything for him, I just replied that he was probably lucky he was, as it could have been worse than it actually was. The reply back was nargh it didn't i still got me face cut.
Well you can argue till your blue in the face at the logic of kids nowadays, but it still was a funny story the way it happened.
Later tonight Fiona ended up taking him down to the Dr's as it was weeping abit, so it was checked out, he was given a tetanus shot and tommorrow he's going back to get a couple of stitches put in. He even used his phone to take some Happy snaps of his face just after the accident so when i get them on the computer i will add them into this post.
Oh and before i forget, there was no damage to the car, and no damage to his bike, Only the boy who thinks of himself as a Crusty Demon.

i still laugh when i think about it.

"I'm riding along and went to get me phone when i looked up there was a parked car there, and i ran into it"

Well till next time - the wombat waddells off

Wednesday update:- Nathan went back to the Dr's today and they had to put in 3 stitches, to the gash near his eye.

Boys will be boys.

the wombat wadells off. Waving.

My first time Blogging ( this will be fun)

Hello, to all you people out there in Cyberspace. If you are lucky enough to be reading about me, my family, my life and travels - no matter where it leads, Good Luck to you (and me - for that matter). You will probably find out somewhere along the track that i sometimes ramble on. (well to bad co's this is my blog) LOL

Anyway for those who don't know, i was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis back in June 2006, and yep that was a big kick in the guts, as my Mum had it for 17 years and we (the Family) were always under the impression that it wasn't hereditory.

When i was diagnosed i told the Neurologist then, about my Mum and he said that it wasn't hereditory, but was a Gene thing, "WELL HELLO" were does he think we get our Genes from - off the bloody clothesline or just line up down at K-mart and buy from there. Sometimes i wonder what is going thru there minds when they make comments like that.

Anyhow such is life and we move on as best as we can, somedays are good, somedays are tolerable and others especially when its hot (weather wise) its just downright crappy.

Now the hardest things that i have to come to terms with is the fact that i can't do alot of the things that i used to do,but being a stubborn little bugger i will still try and do what i can even though sometimes it takes me longer to do them, as i dont have the luxury of fine motor skills in my hands and fingers, but i muddle thru. And learning how to ask for a bit of help when i need it,at first it was hard especially from a mans perspective as i think pride was getting in the way on some occassions ( like, i can do this ive done it before plenty of times,i will do it again.but to no avail as the fingers or hands just wouldn't do what my mind was wanting them to do.)Anyway enough of this twaddle for know, as i said life sucks but we move on.

Married to Fiona, the love of my life and we have 3 kids ,1 dog, a horse, and some budgies and cockatiel.... Oh and 2 Bearded Dragon Lizards.

Later this year Fiona and i and our youngest son Nathan and Fiona's Mum are going on a trip O/seas to the UK for around 6 weeks, so we are looking forward to that as we have never been O/S before,.... well i suppose technically we have, we went to Tassie back in 2005 i think it was, we flew over a stretch of water (which was the Ocean) so you could say weve been o/seas LOL, but others wouldn't see it like that -small minded little people. Anyway it's my blog i will say what i like.

anyway back on the subject - we are going to Scotland for about 3 weeks as thats were Fiona's rellies are from and there are still some living there, so we will haveour own personnel tour guides which is good and we'll be able to stay at a couple of her Aunties so accommodation for most of the trip is sorted,we will head down to England for a couple of weeks and while we are over that side of the world ,will try and do a Bus tour of Europe seeing as we are not that far from there.

Passports have been organised, and Airfares paid, so really we just need to save for some spending money but hey i'm ready to go now and looking forward to it.

Anyways thats all i have to say at the moment, for my first Blog i have probably ranted and raved and completly not got the point of a blog, but i do my best.

Till next time - the wombat waddles off
