Well hooowdy to all you folk out there in cyberspace land, haven't had much new happen over the last 3 weeks or so........ OR HAVE I
Well yes, to start with around 3 weeks ago i got home from work and there was a kitten sitting in the bushes near the front door meowing away, so i had a look and it was very young probably about 5 or 6 weeks old, so being not such a cat lover i got the watering can and poured a little bit of water over it hopeing that it would go back from where it once had cometh :0). Well it took off up around the corner and hid behind the bins for a little bit then came back to the same spot and plonked its bum back downin the wet area again ( dumb kitten :0) ). So i headed back inside the house. When my wife got home from work she had a look at it while i was standing behind her ( saying dont you pick up that cat or it'll never leave ) when she picked it up she said your all wet, so i told her what i had done in the hope it would take off, well she picked it up and took it in the house to dry it off,(with me saying dont you feed it - put it back outside ). Well once it was dry she went outside with it and walked down the road where she then let it go. needless to say it followed her back home so she picked it back up and took it further away before letting it loose, then ran back to the house via the nature strip, but the kitten had started to follow her then got sidetracked by something in the air under the streetlight, so she then came back inside for the night.
The following Day when i left for work, i had a very quick look around but couldn't hear or see it so i headed off to work. On the way home i had been thinking about it on and off for most of the day and had thought that if it was still there i would have to take it inside and give it a drink and something to eat as by that stage it would have been about 2 days ( That i figured )that it wouldn't have had any nourishment, and for a kitten it would have been starving, and i'm not that heartless a bloke that i would let that happen. Well got home and the next door neighbor was out the front having a smoke and said ( theres a cat in my bushes somewhere meowing i can hear it but not see it,) i just grinned. With that he knelt down and looking it the shrubs said there it is, i said is it a grey colour, he said yep, i then said ( well it was at our house but now it yours ) and laughed. Well he doesn't lie cats either so he wasnt going to pick it up, he just started to stir it up, in the meantime my wife had got home from work and came over, so she picked it up to calm it down abit so i said we may as well bring it in and give it a drink etc, and keep an eye out to see if anyone advertises a missing kitten. ( High hopes LOL )
Night 1:- all went well, After giving her a drink ( which she gulped down ) gee i think she was thirsty. we gave her a little bit of food. She ( the kitten ) knows kitty litter and used it, and is the most friendliest little thing, i'm sitting in my recliner chair and she just sits on my lap and goes to sleep, happily purring away, a bed was made up for her in the laundry and thats where she went for the night.
Day 2 :- Got some more kitten food and more kitty litter, and some play toys for her, had a bit of a play with her. ( shes a funny bugger and quick darts around the house like a flash of lightening ) fed her at dinner time and she used the litter tray again. ( had been using it all the time) and for a small kitten when she does number two's - " pooey " - she stinks LOL. anyhow after more plays etc it was time for bed so i decided to take her and put her on our bed where i figured she could sleep for the night being that she was so good. Well after getting into bed she was chasing our feet ( which were under the dounna ) around the bed as we kept moving from one side to the other, she did some quite funny little jumps and rolls and pounces, so after a little while she laid down at the end of the bed and went to sleep. Early next morning i awoke to a purring around my ear drum ( she had decided to move on up the bed where we were and go to sleep ) and believe me as your laying there asleep and its quiet and you are woken by a purring that gets louder and Louder and LOUDER as it get closer - its quite funny (especially as the purring becomes a dull Roar when shes right above your ear. Well finally left her be and went back to sleep, only to wake later and wonder where she went, to find that shes asleep between the 2 pillows.
Day 3 :- Same as previous day
Day 4 :- Same
Day 5:- well was awoken again by the young Lioness roaming to the top end of the bed, but this time she was laying on the top of my pillow and slapped me over the head with her paw whilst purring into my ear, i moved her off and went back to sleep, only for her to do the same thing an hour and a half later - purring in ear like a bull horn, light paw slap -resting the paw on my face i woke and moved her again, went back to sleep. About two hours later the same thing she has wandered up to the top of the bed all the while the purring is getting louder and louder ( by this stage i'm awake but just laying still ) as she gets to my pillowwalks up it lays down purring right in my ear and brings the paw down to rest on the side of my face again, as i started to move she must have got a fright, as the claws came out (ouch) didnt scratch just claws out while paw still sitting there on the side of my face. so i lifted her and put her back down the end of the bed and went back to sleep. Next thing i knew the alarm went off, Christ i was buggered all day :0)
Days have gone by, by now and the wife has had her nights where the kitten goes and wakes her, (hehehe)
So where are we at now 3 weeks later, the kitten will come and sit on my lap while i am watching TV and go to sleep, much to my wifes annoyance ( as i was the one who poured water on her, and she's the one who feeds it ) LOL And i'm not doing to bad for someone who hates cats, and i'm the one who took her to bed with us BLAH BLAH BLAH :0) LOL
Well - Yes i have taken a shine to her, shes a funny little bugger and i dont mind her sitting on my lap or purring in my ear and all those other funny little things that she does.
As for her name well we couldn,t decide there was a few things mentioned but i had said for a kitten and with whats shes eating her stomachs getting bigger and bigger (shes getting a little puddy guts, so i started calling her Pud and so did my wife. after about the 2nd week some ginger was starting to come out around the back of her ears andsome down her back, so my wife said we should call her Meg! ( Ginger Megs ) i still call her Pud the wife calls her Meg, she calls her i call her LOL, but i have noticed that my wife does revert back to calling her Pud, so all is good LOL.
No-one has listed a kitten thats missing (Shock Horror) but we have come across an add, that was looking for a free home for a kitten that had been dumped at their place which isnt to far from our place, time frame was day before we found ours, its a male, very friendly, litter friendly and grey in colour, and around the same age. MMM maybe Puds brother, i'd say someones been dumping their cats litter off around the town. So i have now said that if anyone comes looking for a lost kitten , just say no - we haven't seen a lost kitten (as what we have, has now become part of the house .

So to sum up our Zoo, We have - 2 Bearded Dragon Lizards, 1 kitten, 2 dogs, 1 horse and 2 birds out in the aviary.
