Well as you all know i have MS, and as such am part of a very big Family here within our shores of Oz, i am just a small part in an on-line MS peer support group, where we have a chat room and newslinks, and forums, which is all very good and informative, especially for those who are new to MS and are unsure - scared -or the like, sort of like in Limbo and where do i go from here feeling.
You get to meet via the chat room a whole lot of people who are in the same situation as yourself, and talk about everyday happenings wether it be MS related or just family stuff, pretty cool - and when you are feeling ill, down,or having another episode people can relate and you dont feel as alone as everyone is thinking of you and sends there best wishes etc.
Its funny that you can get into the chat room week after week or as much as you can and be chatting with all these wonderful, funny people from around the country, and some from o/seas occassionally, and as your sitting in the chair typing away you form a picture in your head of what each person looks like and the expressions on their faces as something funny is brought up., and believe me we can get some real funny shit going on in the chat room :0) LOL
Most of these people we will never get to actually meet in person as we are all very far apart from each other and dependant on circumstances ( some drive some don't etc ). a couple of weeks back in the chat room one night one of the other members was asking how things were and that she would be coming past my way on the sunday as she was heading up to Ballarat to see her parents on the weekend, i said if she lets me know what time she'd be passing thru i would go over to the footbridge which goes over the freeway and wave to her LOL, later on i sent her a PM ( personell message ) and said if she had time she was quite welcome to call in and have a coffee or tea or milo or water or whatever she drinks LOL. And it would be a break in the trip for her as it was a long drive from her home wayb out Gippsland way. Well the next morning, she rang me and asked for my address as she would be calling in to break up trip so would be glad for the break, Mega - aka Margaret arrived around the 3.30 mark and was here for around an hour - hour and a half, so it was finally good to meet and put a face to one of the people i had been chatting to for so long. :0) .
It was Fiona's ( my wifes) birthday and we had her mum and other family members around when Mega dropped in but hey all was good Mega said i should have told her and she wouldn't have called in, but i said it was fine and our meeting had been organised before all this so all was good, so she got to meet not only my wife and kids, but others from my wifes family as well LOL. She also got to meet the new Kitten as well. Anyhow after a cuppa tea and a chat it was time for her to be on her way, so some piccy's were taken buy Mega and by my wife and with that she left.
Mega aka Margaret and Me the wombat in the kitchen just prior to her leaving. :0)
For now the Wombat Waddells off ( till next time )
Waving.
